Returning to red Lake after a short leave

Oh yes! I'm back at Red Lake, after a short summer break :-)
After managing to wrap things up at Esperides on 05/08, shortly after midday, I succeeded in making it to Amsterdam the KLM / NW flight to Canada: Amsterdam - Minneapolis - Thunder Bay; departure from Schiphol at 16.35 local and arriving at CYQT around 23.40 on the 5th.
Found Coop there, ready with a booked charter for the saturday morning ...
We left CYQT at about 08.08 with a small commuter carrying 17 pax and the two of us. Initially I (we) had planned to take the plane up to 20.000 ft and on 'eco cruise' all the way to Red lake; but the weather made that 'not a good idea': running up to 'turbulence 8' over the 10.000 mark.
We obtained permission for an amended plan, to fly just below 10.000 ft and even at that altitude it was still quite shaky -and I suppose less comfortable for the passengers-
Anyway, with the required 'attention' and work in those conditions and the long hours I put in earlier, I was feeling a bit pooped after 1 hour's flight ... we checked with the passengers and found they would be quite happy with a short stop at Sioux Lookout -stretching legs and having some fresh coffee :-)
On short -very short- final to CYXL 16 it was Coop speaking in his usual easy and laid back manner: "wheels would be handy, I reckon"
Damn, If I hadn't caught that I would have plastered the cargo pod over the full length of the runway ... not to speak of other parts of the plane and my bank account :-(
Oh, it's sometimes great to have Coop along!
That'll teach me not to take a 'difficult' flight too soon after other longish work.
So, after a short stop -and some hot, black coffee- we left again for CYRL; Coop flying hands on as second pilot and keeping a watchful eye on my proceedings.
We landed safely at CYRL 08 sometime around 10.30.
I'll probably keep off the rest of the weekend trying to get over my sleep and jet lag :-)
