NORSEMAN MONUMENT INVESTIGATION
CASE NUMBER CA9045-7813490-675

Known Facts:
The monument was removed from its pedestal under cover of darkness. All bolts securing the Norseman CF-DRD were removed with tools rather than a cutting torch. No trace of the fastening nuts and bolts have been found. There are no witnesses and no one interviewed can recall hearing any unusual noises.

Captain Brick of dESPair went missing the evening/morning of the incident and has not been seen since. He was last seen at Righty's Sports Bar. No one remembers his leaving due to the fact that the establishment was more raucous than usual that night. It is alleged that there was some form of altercation between local Remy Malheur and his cohorts and Captain Brick. Witnesses recall John Splashing Trout coming to Cpt. Brick's aid. There were several heated exchanges between the two groups. Witness Ernest Tidy saw the incident but couldn't make out what was said because of the ambient clamour. Tidy stated that the altercation seemed to die down after what he believes to be a challenge issued by Malheur and his cronies but was unsure as to the content of the challenge.

Although Righty closed the bar at the legal hour, his patrons remained until well after 3 a.m. and he was not always in the room as he was cleaning up and counting the day's proceeds so he was unable to set the time of Cpt. Brick's departure nor whether he left alone or in the company of John splashing Trout. Splashing Trout has not been located as yet. Splashing Trout is known to this office and although he has been implicated in some unsavoury dealings in the past, nothing has been proven and no charges have been laid against him.

There is no evidence of foul play in the disappearance of Captain Brick but is a suspicious coincidence that he and CF-DRD should go missing on the same night. Interviews with Cpt. Troll, Cpt. Hak, dESPair CEO and Coop AeroPedro Chief Maintenance Officer have revealed a passion Cpt. Brick has for vintage aircraft and a penchant for practical jokes but all assure me that theft, especially from his hosts is absolutely out of the question. However he was observed on the Chimo docks several times gazing wistfully at the Norseman monument.

Surveillance Efforts:
While I have been employed in the interview process dESPair personnel, Cpt. Hak and Coop have conducted several stake outs and have reported the presence of a very fast boat, probably of the Cigarette class. since they are civilians they are participating in an observation capacity
only and have been carefully instructed by myself not to make any contact whatsoever with the boat or any persons that may be connected with it. I hope to join them in the near future.

The dESPair crew has been most helpful and in fact they have augmented my meager resources greatly. I recommend they receive some form of recognition for their efforts.
