Back to to GPF, this time with the L100-30 for some LAPES practice...
Did 2 LAPES runs. Both to the other side of runway than the camp is;
didn't want to spoil your breakfast with a couple of pallets (20.000 lbs
total) on your table... One run from each direction.
As required, I landed to pick them up again.
I don't feel too confortable with this large plane. I released the cargo
doing something like 130 kts at a height of 20 to 50 ft. Not what you
were asking, but the pallets did take it.
The info I found on LAPES for the Hercules mentions a speed of 130-140
kts and a height of 6 to 10 ft. If I would try that, I would most
probably bounce a few times on those big fat wheels...
