SOAS 002 mission

For your educational purposes, here are the flight data
analysis from the participating pilots:


The pilots of dESPair is currently busy with LAPES (Low Altitude Parachute Extraction System ) training at the dESPAir SOAS (Special Operations and Air Services) base, somewhere in beautiful Norway.

The training culminated in a LAPES certification flight using a C-119.

The first set of certification results are below. The results will be updated as black box data is received from the other pilots. Please note that this is not a competition. The aim is to jettison over 23,000 pounds of cargo at a ground level height of less than 40ft and at an indicated speed of less than 120 knots. The Black Box Data links below show graphs of each pilot's flight and make for interesting viewing.
