I am pleased to report that Cpt. Troll has managed, yet again, to survive one of Cpt. Brick's wacky capers... After a period of becoming accustomed with a new cockpit and vehicle — I managed to burn two sets of tires off the Bug in my attempts to steer her around the course using only the mouse and keyboard (a total disaster with one spin out after another) — I think both Coop and Old Salty will need to be examined by the Base Doctor to be sure they didn't suffer a hyrnea from all their laughter and rolling about on the tarmac. Glad to have brought a little levity into your lives, gentlemen. When I finally got Old Salty emotions contained enough that he could focus on the job at hand, we intalled a proper control system (yoke & gas pedal). Once that was operational I found the Bug much easier to steer and then speed became the issue. I had the best luck when I kept steering corrections small and speed reductions well timed. If I tried to carry too much speed I inevitably ended up in an annoying, time wasting spin. My first attempt brought a time of 12:03 minutes and a couple of spin-outs. For my second
try
I pushed Cpt. Bricks suggested speed limits. The third attempt
brought a time of 11:35 minutes with a couple So cpt. Troll's race has been run and I just want to say there was no damage to Cpt. Brick's Messerschmitt body work or paint because unlike a certain youngster, who shall remain nameless, I did not tip over my ride! and now I must say, I have had a blast and regardless of the outcome, I wish my fellow competitors the best. Thank you Captain Brick for once again providing a fun and challenging vehicle for us to play with. Regards, Cpt. Troll
