Since you have all arrived in Red Lake I thought I'd share with everyone the cargo manifests that each Captain received prior to his final leg into CYRL. A great deal of credit must go to our brilliant staff, Esprit and Dee. They worked long and hard to arrange cargo that was ideally suited for each of you. Thanks also goes to the people at Red Lake Airport who were so accommodating as we made arrangements for the arrival of the dESPair crew. So, I invite you to take a moment to look over the following and see for yourself if the girls didn't find each of you just the right cargo, perfectly suited to your character and skills. Captain Brick Captain Darkwing Captain Fokker 3rd Captain Hak Captain Jackal Captain Mananan Captain Sawback Captain Skybuster Captain Snidley If there is a theme to the RLBA, it is to challenge our skills and provide new experiences in an environment that I love. I hope you will enjoy it. The Bills of Lading were to give you a smile and perhaps something to build your M002 PIREPs upon. You may notice a connection to past adventures or situations. It's subtle but I think the individuals concerned will catch on. The nasty weather (real, BTW, taken from earlier METARs) was to give you something to do during your flight from CYWG to CYRL and to cloak the boring default scenery. The clouds parting as you reached Red Lake was a symbolic raising of the curtains to a new theatre of operations. Like all good drama we need a climax before calling it "mission complete", and what could be better to top off the performance than the experience of a white knuckle landing. Hence the tricky cross wind was there to provide a pretty challenge to test your landing skills. To your credit you all did amazingly well. There were no mishaps or costly landings for which our CFO will be eternally grateful. My compliments to you all. |
